Google banner advertising, also known as GDN (Google Display Network) advertising, is an advertising network system that displays banners on websites under the Google Adsense partner program. You can create your own ads that target the audience according to your ad campaign.

Things to prepare before starting to advertise GDN

1. Auction form in GDN . advertising

CPC (cost per click): The maximum amount you can pay per click when a user clicks on the banner when your ad is displayed on the website of the GDN advertising system.

Max CPC: The maximum amount you accept to pay for the auction when a user clicks (clicks) on your ad.

CTR: how often users click your ad when it’s displayed, this metric measures the effectiveness of your ad. Recipe CTR = Clicks / Impressions

Convert: is the number of conversions you get when a user clicks on your ad. First want you to determine what interactions are useful to you to set up the conversion (eg: chat, fill out the form, click on the phone number..), you can refer to how to set up the conversion at Settings put conversion on website

3. GDN . Ads Targeting

Key word: is a type of targeting according to the user’s google search history, and on the content of GDN partner websites with the keywords you target.

Subject: is a form of targeting according to user behavior (interestproduct research behavior, the former visited the site your aka remarketing or similar audiences to people who have visited the site)


Demographic: is targeting by age and gender which is relatively inaccurate (cannot be equal to facebook because on facebook users declare the user’s profile information is relatively much more accurate)

Topic: Select topics to display on content related to certain topics

Placement position: Target the websites where you want the banner to show up.

Responsive Ads: This is an ad format that automatically adjusts to the available ad space. You only need to design 2 banners 1200×1200 and 1200×628 to save cost and design time.


Advertising image: Includes 15 standard sizes 300×600, 160×600, 300×250, 120×600, 250×250, 320×100, 728×90, 970×90, 970×250, 200×200, 240×400, 120 ×240, 320×50, 468×60.

But in my opinion, these 5 sizes 728×90, 300×250, 160×600, 300×600, 320×50 bring the best conversion rates.
